SEA AT LAST

Crossing paths in March 2011 with explosive creativity, Cohen & Tory Elena dove head first into co-writing counterpoint harmonies with deft lyricism, intuitive melodies, and stellar rhythms.
Tory Elena's musical background is a diverse story between playing in traditional Latin/jazz ensembles, rocking dusty dive bars with a post-apocalyptic jug band, and gypsy flamenco evenings on sun-drenched rooftops in Spain. Intrigued by the love affair between rhythm and melody, she picked up the ukulele and shortly after, found her voice.
After being handed his first guitar among the mystical Joshua trees, Cohen became a composer. Restless for new music and inspiration, he traveled Europe playing countless Parisian courtyards with a blues guitar and distinctive voice.
Sea At Last has gypsy pop roots and influences including Bon Iver, Andrew Bird, Patrick Watson, Broken Social Scene, Ratatat, Sigur Ros and Chopin. Playing the festival circuit and sharing the stage with Beats Antique, Thievery Corp, Bonobo, LYNX & Sean Hayes, this Portland based duo is preparing to release an EP in the late summer of 2011.
